Terms for the Supply of Services

A set of standard terms for inclusion by a supplier of services in his standard conditions of work.

It should be given to each prospective customer for agreement and would thereby be incorporated into the contract for services.


Purchase the Terms for the Supply of Services

Terms are included to deal with:

• the name of the contractor and your name;
• the standard of workmanship and materials to be used and whether the work is to be carried out in accordance with any plans and specifications;
• the date on which the work will be started;
• the date on which the work will be finished;
• A clause stating that the contractor will pay you reasonable compensation if the work is not completed on time;
• A clause that the contractor should leave the site in a clean and tidy state at the end of the work;
• details of how changes to the work intended are to be agreed;
• a condition that the contractor must be properly insured;
• a precise definition of the circumstances in which you or the contractor can terminate the contract;
• the cost of the work and how this is to be paid -- either in stages as the work progresses or in a lump sum at the end;
• a requirement that the contractor should return to put right any defects in the work after it is completed;
• a condition that any damage caused by the contractor should be rectified at his expense;
• an arbitration clause.
