if the police charge a person with a driving offence,then when the POLICE prepare their prosecution papers THEY contain a different registration number to the vechicle in question,is their charge nul and void,because the motorist can automatically prove,they did not commit the alledged offence

If the charge brought against you is incorrectly put then you are fully entitled to plead not guilty and the charge cannot be sustained. However this could only serve to delay matters as providing the police do not exceed the six-month limit applicable for most motoring offences, they need only to reissue the charge. They also have the alternative of asking the court to amend which is likely to be granted unless you were misled by the mistake.
