My boss has told me that unless I'm able to come back to work within a month of having my baby, they will have to find somebody else to do my job and when I return to work, I will have to take another job. I do not want this. Is what he is telling me lawful?

You have the right to 26 weeks maternity leave and to return to your original job at the end. When you return from maternity leave your employer must offer you your own job with the same terms and conditions. If this is not reasonably possible you must be offered a suitable alternative job with terms and conditions that are no less favourable.
